With this greeting, I am welcoming you to join me during this holy season of Lent in sharing the experience of your Catholic faith on this blog.
I am beginning this blog as a way of communicating to you and likewise hearing from you. I invite you to express your concerns, your hopes and dreams and whatever you feel may help to encourage each other as we journey with the Lord during this Lenten season.
In the coming months I have invited many others from around the diocese to share their experience through messages which will be posted on this blog. You in turn are invited to respond to them with your own ideas and insights. This is now a new way for us to spread the good news of God’s saving love; it is a fresh envelope in which we will place the good news.
The gospel is not only a text which was written centuries ago, but a message that is alive and dynamic, ever ancient and ever new, infused with the power of the Holy Spirit and imparted to all those who receive it with an open heart and mind.
So please visit me and your fellow Catholics in this new way that we can learn from each other, grow in faith together and build up the body of Christ.
May God’s blessings be with you always!
Bishop John Ricard

This blog is a great idea Bishop! I hope everyone will take this opportunity to be connected and support one another.
This is an awesome idea
The Good News in a new envelope. What a useful metaphor as we figure out how to use the latest technologies to encounter the most ancient truths.
Bishop Ricard,
I am so thrilled that we are using Technology to reach the many. I am excited over the prospect of learning and reading other people's journey toward Christ as my lenten journey leads me! Great Job!

I have to say that since I have come to this Diocese, almost eight months ago, I have been continually amazed by the innovative concepts being used to reach the faithful. The vision and pastoral leadership within the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee is truely amazing. I am blessed to be here and experience God at work in this way.
Bishop, thanks for taking us into cyber technology and sharing the message of the Gospel with all in cyber space.
